Grassroots Disaster Action- Kasese and Mbale

Project Overview

This project focuses on enhancing community resilience by developing localised disaster preparedness and response strategies, focusing on capacity building and early warning systems.

Background

Uganda is increasingly experiencing natural disasters such as floods, landslides, and droughts, exacerbated by climate change. Many communities lack the necessary resources and knowledge to prepare for and respond to these disasters effectively. Equiping grassroots communities with disaster risk reduction strategies is crucial for enhancing resilience and minimising the impact of such events.
